The WIP Wednesday Craze!

Okay, so if you’ve spent more than five minutes in the needlepoint corner of the internet, you’ve probably seen people posting their WIPs every Wednesday. And if you’re new, you might be thinking… why is everyone casually exposing their unfinished projects in the middle of the week?

Welcome to Work in Progress Wednesday, aka the most relatable weekly tradition in the craft world.

Basically, every Wednesday, stitchers share whatever they’re currently working on — whether it’s a stunning hand-painted canvas, a tiny ornament they started yesterday, or that one project they’ve been “totally about to finish” since last summer (we’ve all been there).

The best part? It builds community. People cheer each other on, offer stitch suggestions, share fiber ideas, and celebrate even the tiniest progress — like, two rows of basketweave absolutely counts.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to post your own WIP… this is it. Grab a cute pic of whatever’s on your stretcher bars and join the Wednesday crowd. The needlepoint world is obsessed with seeing your progress — even the messy backs. (Okay, especially the messy backs.)
